Casing Telemetry
Accelerometer signals are processed entirely in memory. Raw vibration data is never persisted to disk, never aggregated, and never uploaded to a server. The sensor stream is consumed by the reaction engine and discarded on the next tick.
Local Stats Ledger
The slap-counter database lives 100% offline at ~/Library/Application Support/SlapChan/stats.sqlite. It contains timestamps, intensity values, and reaction IDs — nothing identifying, and nothing leaves your machine.
Microphone Fallback
When the accelerometer is unavailable (VMs, Hackintosh, older Intel chassis), SlapChan reads acoustic levels only — peak amplitude over a 50ms window. No audio buffers are recorded, transcribed, or saved.
License Validation
Activation requires a quick, one-time online request to the secure servers at Polar.sh to register your device. Once activated, the status is cached locally on your machine, allowing the app to run fully offline. A silent validation check is performed in the background once every 7 days. No profiling, anonymous analytics, or usage tracking is ever collected or sent.
